My First Experience using Groupon Getaway

March last year, before I decided to join Executive Master in Business Administration (EMBA) class, I have plan to take a short vacation with my husband. It's looks like honeymoon vacation before class started! Where to go? What's the budget? Where to stay? How to go? All this question comes into my mind!

As usual, I will be the vacation planner and suggest a few places to my husband. I got suggestions from my friends and family members as well. I also do a survey on the interesting place in Malaysia through blogs, Groupon Getaways and Agoda.com. 

Luckily there is a promotion package to go Langkawi. I found it through Groupon Getaway. I discuss with my husband and we have decided to go there. Since there was school holidays, my mother in-law and brother in-law have decided to join us and therefore, our vacation become a family trip. So interesting! I start to buy groupon, read the terms and conditions, and follow the instruction given. This is my first time using Groupon Getaways!

Alhamdulillah, I manage to do it. We have decided to stay at Sandy Beach Resort, near Pantai Chenang. I have contact the person in-charge of the resort and communicate on our accommodation. We need to pay a deposit. We have done the transaction through online transfer, by using Maybank.2u. It's very simple and easy! We got an email notification and booking number for our record.

In the first place, we want to travel by car. However, my mother in-law has requesting to travel by flight as it was long journey. So, we agreed. We have search the flight ticket through website and see whether there is a promotional package. We have made comparison among MAS Airlines, Air Asia and Firefly. At last, we have decided to choose Air Asia for round trip from KLIA to Langkawi, Airport. Once again, we need to pay through online transaction. As the amount is quite expensive which is RM1200, we have use the credit card.

Our journey started with Island Hopping by boat and our first stopover is Pulau Dayang Bunting (Island of the Pregnant Maiden) with the Pregnant Maiden Lake (a freshwater lake).This beautiful island has a unique and interesting legend about the fairy princess who lost her child and decided to lay her child to rest in peace in the lake. And for that, she blesses all the childless and infertile women to be conceivable after bathing in the lake.

Then, the Pulau Singa Besar, the untouched island, being undeveloped to preserve its precious nature, with no basic amenities. The last island of the tour is Pulau Beras Basah - one of the most well-known islands, a perfect getaway with its white sandy beach and the lush green forest that surrounds the island for relaxing.

The next day, we went to Under Water World, Cable Car and Pekan Kuah, for shopping. This is the most visited place for tourist as the chocolate, bags, plates and other goods are tax free and cheapest. And worth it! I enjoy this trip very much and hope that I can travel again during the next semester break!
